Sue Sibley was our guest speaker at the end of September, and as we have come to expect from her, she ran through many quality prints and projected images of hers and some of her friends, giving us tips and advice on how to improve workflow. A big advocate of getting out of her comfort zone and trying new things, Sue was happy to show us images that she perceived as failures as well as those images that were successful. Interestingly Sue will re-visit work that hasn’t quite worked, and try to improve it for future use.
Sue recommends, getting your work seen outside of the club, whether it be down the route of distinctions or entering salons and external competitions. To this end we were shown some panels for PAGB and RPS distinctions, and then shown the format of the record sheet for exhibitions.
