A regular at the club Norman Wiles had 17 prints and 23 projected images to judge on this occasion.
Prints first, we had a good assortment of subject as is usual within the club, Norman gave a good commentary of what he saw and marked accordingly. Keen for us to really look at the edges of the images to ensure there is nothing that draws your eye away from the main subject. And Norman shared a little trick of using a clothes peg to hook up anything you don’t want in an images such as stray vegetation.
6 images were held back for a second look, two monochrome images and four colour. Final top scorers as follows;
10 marks -Vital Spark – Marilyn Peddle, Nuthatch – David Chaloner, Thirsty Squirrel – David Chaloner
9.5 marks – Sadly in Decline – Stephanie Selwyn, At Audley End – Malcolm Bowditch
In the projected image section, Norman suggested the use of a stroke line around some of the images, to prevent them from blending into the background. 5 were held back in this section and final scores were :
10 marks – Over the Bridge – Marilyn Peddle, Resting Place – Jean Bartlett
9.5 marks – Misty Morning – Glynis Larter-Whitcher, Yellow Billed Stork – Jean Bartlett, I’m Watching You – Pat Catley, Early Morning Reflections – Pat Catley
