I recently had a problem with my Epson R2400 printer when it claimed that certain internal components had reached the end of their lives. This was accompanied by alternate flashing of the ‘Paper’ and ‘Ink’ lights and an obdurate refusal to print anything at all. The printer is excellent and hitherto has given no trouble - but it is five years old! A helpful conversation with Epson revealed that the machine had decided that the absorbent inkpads were saturated and must be replaced. The Epson service charge was rather more than I wanted to pay. From a perusal of Yellow Pages I got a number for Link Office Supplies in Upper Parkstone (01202 734599) who said they could do the work. I took the machine in on one day and collected it 48h later when I was charged £30. Since then I have printed several A3 photos and everything seems fine so far.
They seem to deal with a wide range of printers and it occurred to me that others might find this news interesting. Obviously there is no guarantee that they can help with all printer problems and in any case the charge may be more (or less) than I paid.
