Forthcoming Inter-Club Competitions

A reminder to all members that there are two inter-club competitions looming, details of which can be found on the calendar at the right of this page. Pass your cursor over the date, click on it and it will tell you all the details of the competition.
The dates are Monday 20th October, 2008 (All-v-All PRINTS) at Kinson Camera Club, Kinson Community Centre, Pelhams Park, Millhams, Road, Kinson, BH10 7LH and Monday 3rd November, 2008 (All-v-All SLIDES) held at Dorchester Corn Exchange, High East Street, Dorchester, DT1 1HF. All members are welcome to attend both competitions.
The Club Selection Committee will make their selection for both competitions on Wednesday 15th October at 7.30pm and we need your images by Tuesday 14th October. We cannot use images that have been used in SAPA (Stour and Avon Photographic Association) competitions before.
We have to select 6 prints and can only use one image from any one photographer. If you have prints you would like us to consider and they have never been used in a SAPA competition, let us have them please. We are particularly short of slides and ask anyone who does slides to let us have them, also by Tuesday 14th October. (All slides should be marked with the photographer’s name, the image’s title and Blandford C.C. so that they are easily identified). We aim NOT to have to convert digital images into slides, however, if there are not enough quality slides, we may have to. Would members therefore let us have digital images on disc so that we can consider them for conversion should the need arise. As long as the image has never been used in SAPA competitions before, we will consider it. Images on disc to be high resolution PSD or TIFF format AND in lower resolution JPEGS. The JPEGS are far quicker to open on a PC. {Please ensure you write your name on the CD (no labels please) and ensure you have named your picture} If an image is selected for conversion the Selection committee will get it done but the photographer will have to foot the bill which will be £2-£3. We have to provide 8 slides, we can use a maximum of two slides per photographer and the number of nature slides are limited to 3.
