Exhibition 2017

Blandford Forum Camera Club 61st Annual Exhibition

The 61st Annual Exhibition was held on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th May in Blandford Forum Corn Exchange. The presentation of awards was made on Sunday afternoon by the judge for our exhibition Mr Reg Clark LRPS in the presence of Blandford Forum Mayor Peter Clark and his wife Linda.

Visitors’ Choice – The Esme Butler Cup

Visitors were asked to vote for their favourite print from the club prints on show, whether in colour or monochrome. The votes were counted and the print chosen was by Ian Ferris for his stunning “Majestic in flight”. Ian was awarded the Esme Butler cup for the favourite club print in the BFCC 2017 Exhibition it was also commended by Reg Clark in the club colour prints section.

Our Visitor’s choice was even more poignant this year as we had only just heard about the sudden death of the presenter of the cup and friend of the club Esme Butler. There was a moment silence in her memory and some words about Esme by our President Norman Carey ARPS. Dave her husband also came along to the presentation and said a few words and read a poem that Esme liked which was very relevant to photography and picture taking. I know all the club appreciated his presence at this sad time and our thoughts are with him and his family.
