Profile: Profile: My interest in photography has grown since the advent of the digital age. I gained my first digital camera, a 1.5 mega pixel Agfa camera in around 1998 when the technology first came into being; they have certainly developed since then! I did dabble a little in developing my own black and white prints and slides back in the 1970’s but life and work took over. Now as the years are moving on I am spending more time on enjoying taking photos and my camera goes where I go. I am always looking for suitable subjects for images but the ones I most enjoy taking are landscapes particularly in the mornings and evenings plus animals and nature in general. I also work in web design helping schools in the Dorchester area with their websites, which also involves taking and manipulating images for logos and for the web. I now own a Canon 50D SLR digital with an ever-expanding list of lenses and accessories. I joined BFCC a few years ago and I enjoy the mixture of talks, competitions and learning photography from people who are happy to pass on their expertise. Most of all I enjoy meeting the friendly people in the club, which make it the success it is. I have taken an Open University short course in Digital photography and been on a couple of photo shoot days one with Heather Angel and two with Colin Varndell, they have been enjoyable and I learned a lot from the experience. I am now taking a course with the Open College of Arts on The Art of Photography (http://www.oca-uk.com). The course is in modules and could eventually lead to a degree in photography, but that is in the future.
