A Talk on West Wales – Betty and Tony Rackham both FRPS

In particular, Tony and Betty were presenting an evening about the landscape and natural history of Pembrokeshire.

Buying a bungalow in Wales on retirement, they head there for a week or two most months and judging by the range of flora and fauna they can photograph through each season you can see why.

From the smallest moths, to colourful butterflies, ancient woodlands and beautiful wildflower meadows, you can enjoy the coast or mountain range vistas, there really is something for everyone. We saw an array of images showing the essence of the area, including a trip to Skomer and the associated sea birds and mammals.

The evening concluded with an AV presentation, The Seashore of West Wales, which gave us the sounds as well as the images of the Pembrokeshire coast, somewhere well worth a visit.

I have been a club member for several years now and find I learn something whichever club event I attend. I enjoy the Studio Group evenings, but equally am happy photographing whatever the surroundings provide at home and out and about.
